Garden Maintenance
We do all aspects of garden maintenance. We mow lawns, strim, prune, cut hedges, weed and do planting work. We also work alongside larger lawn and hedge contractors, which leaves us to concentrate on your beds and borders. I especially love this side of our work.
We currently maintain gardens in Wadebridge, Trebetherick, Rock, Polzeath, Padstow and surrounding areas. These gardens range from small to extensive. We visit some once a month, while others need fortnightly care. We maintain privately owned gardens, where the customer lives, as well as those where the owner lives abroad or in another part of the UK. Some gardens have a change over day, while others don’t. In addition, there are the more commercial gardens, which we look after as well. There is quite a range.
Planting Schemes
Plants are my passion. Since 2002 I have created and helped create numerous gardens. Some have been from scratch, others have had beds added. Each project starts with getting to know what the customer wants; their likes and dislikes and what their hopes are for the space. Year round colour is often the aim; however, some customers seek low maintenance or want to attract wildlife. I have been fortunate enough to have some of the gardens I’ve helped create in the National Open Garden Scheme, where money has been raised for local charities.
Ponds
I have waders and enjoy clearing customers’ ponds. Some need an annual clear out, while others need more frequent sessions. I have come face-to-face with newts, toads, frogs, fish and eels. All fascinate me.
Pressure Washing
During the winter months we do a lot of pressure washing. Living in Cornwall, decks and patios can become slippery with algae. If left for a long time, we can apply hypochlorite, which works like magic. We always take pets and wildlife into account when using this, so please don’t worry.
Pesticides
Depending on the customer’s preference, we can apply weed killer to driveways and other areas. Again, we always take animals into consideration when doing this.
